The Light
20 'Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. 21He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. 22He reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. 23 To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise. A God sized Test Designed by God
Had Nebuchadnezzar told the astrologers and Chaldeans the dream they could have come up with something. But God set this whole thing up to show a heathen king that God is God and greater than him. I don’t read the horoscopes because I believe that is going back down to Egypt in uncertain times. But from my remembrance they are extremely vague and you are the one that makes them fit your life. As you can see in today’s reading people have been making a living as diviners throughout time. In this case though their bluff was called because Nebuchadnezzar had become suspicious of their claims to see the future. He understood that if they were as they claimed to be they could divine what the dream was too. The Dream was Direct from God
Today’s Application
The human heart has a place that is empty that only God can fill. Satan has manufactured uncountable “Ways” to fill the vanity except his ways are just adding vanity to vanity. If you know Jesus as Savior you know the answer that Satan can’t imitate or even understand. God is God and the only way into His presence is the ONLY ONE He sent to save you. Like the Astrologers Satan is forced to try to guess the answers to a question he doesn’t know. The empty place designed for the Holy Spirit in your heart can’t even be opened by anyone but Jesus. It’s a lock that Satan will never have the keys to on a door he can’t break down. If you opened that door at Jesus’ knock and have let Him in you understand there is No Other Way. You know the dream and the interpretation. You are powerless to change the world, others or even yourself: but Jesus is given ALL POWER through the Father. You can’t save an eternal soul, you had to trust Jesus to save yours: but you can show them Him. The AWESOMENESS of ALL THIS IS that I can’t tell you the vision God has given for your life either. God gives you that dream with that same level of encryption that Satan CAN’T HACK! I can’t tell you how you are to work out today’s salvation with fear and trembling; you have the LIGHT! You have God’s Word and His Holy Spirit bringing about God’s plan in your life and Satan is clueless! HALLELUJAH! AMEN!
