The LIGHT
Read Matthew Chapter 4 We have looked at the promise of the LIGHT that changes everything since September 1st: now He is here. In the first 11 verses Jesus comes toe to toe with the darkest heart in the universe. Jesus systematically stomps every temptation with God’s WORD and Satan leaves defeated. Is it strange that the first thing Jesus does is teach us how to defeat the darkness with His LIGHT? Jesus begins by giving Satan notice that He is going to bind him and take his captives. 'But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. ' Matthew 12:28-29 ESV Jesus came into this world and stomped the baddest dude first and sent every demon notice - “You Next!” Jesus conquering Satan first also sent us a very positive message: our taskmaster is defeated. Then - ' From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” ' Matthew 4:17 ESV 'Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ' John 14:6 ESV Jesus walked out into the wilderness and in His flesh did what no other man had ever had the power. And then He told us “Come on Kids, lets go!” He spent His ministry showing us the way it’s done and giving us the power to do it. He showed us what to do and how to be and what is worthless and what is priceless. Before His Holy Spirit would come upon chosen men and empower them to do His Will. When He comes into the Believer’s world now He resurrects the spirit within us that has been dead since Adam. Then His Holy Spirit comes into our spirit and dwells within us “Coming along side” and lending His Strength. A Call to Action
