The Light
Today and Tomorrow will focus on the Pillar of fire that was a picture of God’s presence with His people. It was not only to show God’s presence but also His guidance to His people. The Haste of Their Flight
The Presence of God
The Pillar of Cloud and Pillar of Fire would be with Israel 40 years until the day they crossed Jordan. When the Pillar moved they moved and when it stopped they stopped. I would love to see the picture of the pillar of fire hovering over the Mercy Seat above the Tabernacle. But Spiritually I do see it because as I said it is a picture of God’s presence with His People. My spirit is His Temple and not only is the Holy Spirit above it but in it too. My eyes like to see awesome things but my heart sees a whole other dimension that my eyes can’t. Light is pleasant to the eyes but is a tiny candle compared to the Pillar of Fire in our hearts. For the last 40 years whether it was light or dark in my life God’s presence has been there. When my heart was rebellious I despised that Pillar but He was still there: I was always conscious of Him. After my surrender that Pillar became everything: I have to be as near to Him as I can. In my Darkest nights that Pillar of Fire still rises up into Heaven: I am never alone. 21'And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. 22 The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.' Exodus 13:21-22 ESV 'It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” ' Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV
