The Light
Seeing Jesus as He really IS I write perplexed this morning because the entirety of God’s Word is a portrait of our Creator and Savior. We can see every symbolic picture of who Jesus is and still be bewildered and amazed at every new glimpse. It’s overwhelming and it is supposed to be. We are completely surrounded by the darkness of the Prince and Power of the Air. Everything you could know of this world is tainted with lies because Satan is the father of all lies. It is imperative we cling to every facet of Jesus’ LIGHT to overcome the darkness. The Disciples walked with the Son of Man 3 ½ years. They caught enough glimpses to know He is also the Son of God but the Transfiguration showed the truest picture. Jesus needed to give His Disciples the true picture of who He is to get them through what was next. The Son of Man was about to die but Jesus wanted them to remember the Son of God couldn’t die. Were they overwhelmed? They were overwhelmed by what they saw and who they saw. They saw Moses and Elijah standing before them who they knew had died. “Grave where is your victory, death where is your Sting?” The Jar of Clay containing Jesus surrendered before them and they saw The Light. They were overwhelmed by what they thought they saw in Jesus’ betrayal, trial, and crucifixion: but Jesus had showed them. They didn’t learn like we don’t when Jesus tries to prepare us for things ahead of time. We are naturally Wave/Storm/Darkness focused because of our fallen humanity: we see many things in Hindsight. “Jesus told us about this but we weren’t paying attention.” Oh Beloveds there is so much more AWESOMENESS to see in Jesus. Quit looking for the buts: there are more “And s” to who Jesus is that our minds can fathom. Satan is engineering mayhem and darkness and screaming “Don’t you know WHO I AM?” Yeah Devil we know who you are but we know your end too. Satan is the father of all lies because he himself is a lie: know Jesus and know the Truth. Here is an awesome picture - 1 'Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it. 4 And I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. 5 And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” 6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne. ' Revelation 5:1-7
