Standing God’s Ground
The Watchman
Surprise Attacks are the Weapons of a Coward.
Satan defeats much because he hits us where we don’t expect but throughout the book of Nehemiah there was never an attack recorded. I am sure they moved into a position waiting to attack; but the glint of steel in the noonday sun and in the moonlight kept the attacker away. I have had certain attacks never happen because I was aware and prepared. Of course I have also been defeated because I was blindsided by things I didn’t expect too. It is the truth that when you are “Prayed Up” and Jesus stands with you Satan will look for easier prey. The Roaring Lion seeking whom he may devour is looking for the weak, the sickly and alone person that won’t put up much of a fight. A Faithful Church is the Best Watchmen System
Prepare instead of Worry
Worry is one of Satan’s tools to attack faith with fear. I learned a trick about nightmares when I was a preteen. I heard on one of the morning talk shows that your dreams are from your own mind and you have the power to change a nightmare. I did it and it worked: the child that was once afraid to go to sleep learned to control fear. Satan throws stuff that are nightmarish at us in reality sometimes but fear is the terrorist’s design: faith always conquers fear. I look back on the terror of my life and say “Satan THANK YOU for teaching me how to pray”. When I look at my many spiritual scars I say “Satan THANK YOU for teaching me how to fight!” When every evil thought or concern brings you to your knees to pray: Satan’s best tool becomes the means of his defeat. When you think of someone – pray for them. If they are struggling – help them! Remember that love also means we back away and let God correct them sometimes too. Prayer is the key for the LORD’s Watch-person: how else would you know what to do if you don’t ask.
