Faith that Works
THE ADJECTIVES OF BLAME!
What adjectives do people use when they describe you? “Big Smart Alec!” is the only ones I know about me. You can have wealth and have the care of others as your focus and you probably won’t be labeled as “Rich”. James could be labeled as harsh of speech but again… is he wrong? I am of Scottish and Irish descent and most of the fiction I watch on TV is BBC. Our family moved here in the late 1700’s after the United States broke free from Britain. I understand because the oppressiveness of the ruling class I see in those shows makes me furious. They were born into and raised up to think they are above everyone else. But the thing is those ruling class lords and dukes were wealthy when their country depended on the food they grew. Farming like everywhere else in the modern world is mostly done by corporations and they are quickly becoming poor. Many Castles and Manor houses are in ruins because keeping up a building built in 1450 is expensive and they are living off 1890’s income. Many still act like they are above the law but they live in freezing rooms with buckets on the floor to catch the rain. The factory worker living in a 2 bedroom flat has a better life than they do. “Don’t you KNOW WHO I AM!” Reality is expensive. Many of the castles are being given up to England’s Government backed restoration and preservation group for their historical value and are being turned into museums. But the countryside is riddled with the ruins of riches and wealth. People that are about being rich are focused on how things look because the power of one person over another is about perception. Everyone needs the same basic things to live and the things that take life away have the same power over rich or poor. So how do people describe you? More importantly according to God’s standard what adjectives does He use to describe you? If you trust and obey Him whether you are prince or pauper He says “Well Done Good and Faithful Servant!” I want to be one of them “Loves God and everybody Christians!” We begin with the corrupt nature of wealth tomorrow and it is a two-edged sword.
