Standing God’s Ground
The Warrior
- Perception
- Faith’s Vision
- Saul displays his faithlessness
Application
If you are screaming on social media at other Christians about what they should be doing: welcome to Saul’s army. A warrior doesn’t fight his fellows – he fights the enemy. When David repeatedly asked “What will be done to the warrior that defeats the Philistine he wasn’t asking for himself. He was trying to encourage those he was asking: not once did he belittle them. Christian people have resorted to politics because they have become comfortable with others fighting their battles – FIGHT THE GIANT! The giant in our case is the system that runs on the fears of the multitude: Boldly stand God’s Ground. - Why did Goliath get to make the rules anyway? The first day they should have sent 6 soldiers to kill him and the rest should have charged the enemy. But they were waiting on fear not waiting on the LORD. Forty days David was watching his father’s sheep: he was waiting on the LORD. He was doing what he was supposed to until his earthly father told him to go something else. When he saw the situation in Israel’s camp he did what his Heavenly Father said do. Don’t live by Satan’s rules: his rules say he is going to win. Hate and fear and will have you cowering from the giant and indignant to your fellow Christians. God’s rules say - 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? ' Matthew 5:43-46 ESV
